Background: This study aims to suggest the design direction of smart instruction that reflects user experience for foot health care, such as measuring walking function, an important function of the human body, in order to change the existing diagnosis and treatment-oriented medical paradigm to prevention and management reinforcement due to increased interest in health and the development of wearable health care devices.
Methods: Through literature research, the concepts and prior research of digital healthcare, smart wearable devices, and smart insole were analyzed, and the smart insole sold on domestic substrates was analyzed to derive future improvement needs. In addition, empirical problem items were classified after collecting negative experience reviews of Amazon's products using SHULEX, an analysis tool, to explore the user experience problem factors of the existing insole. The relationship between the negative vocabulary mentioned in the collected reviews was identified as CONCOR, and improvements were derived after classifying the problem types. The derived improvements are presented as directions applicable to hardware and software design.
Results: The types of empirical problems of existing insole users were foot disease, sole pain, foot fatigue, lower body fatigue, arch flexural discomfort, insufficient durability of the insole, and insufficient material/thickness, and improvement measures were suggested by dividing them into hardware and software according to this purpose. In addition, the purpose of measurement, maintenance, management, diagnosis, healing, and improvement as the main functions of the smart insole was suggested, and hardware and software design measures reflecting this were suggested.
Conclusion: While a number of existing smart leadership-related studies have presented research results by developing engineering technologies such as hardware sensor development, this study has derived and categorized the negative experiences of existing product users and suggested design improvement plans according to detailed problem factors. The results of this study are significant in that they specifically provided a solution for smart convergence wearable devices to remove negative experiences from the user's point of view and provide positive experiences.
