The purpose of this study is to investigate the domestic care responsibilities and labor of divorced single-parent women during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study involved a sample of eleven women who were divorced and serving as single parents. The data were obtained through interviews and the collection of images illustrating their daily routines. Based on the findings derived from the application of photovoice methodology, the investigation of caregiving encounters among divorced single-parent women in the photovoice study revealed the term “Surviving the coronavirus wars” and the identification of four primary themes ("Absolutely no one is around. I have to force myself to move forward,” "The recollection of painful experiences: everything is painful,” "I feel myself gradually wasting away“ and "I have to unearth my inner fortitude”), along with the emergence of 13 subthemes. These main themes and subthemes were derived from a comprehensive analysis of nine photographs taken by the study participants. The findings of this study are anticipated to have significant implications for social work policy, practice, and academic advancements, particularly in addressing the challenges of the post-COVID-19 era.
