For children, play is a natural part of life, and also an important activity that allows them to experience the joy of life and learning through play. Play is a natural part of everyday life for children, providing important opportunities to experience the joy of life and learning processes. For children with disabilities, the play also gives help for themselves and care providers. In terms of educational, therapeutic, or social welfare perspectives, play may take a more important role for children with disabilities. As of 2021, there are 77,949 playgrounds registered at the ‘Children Play Facility Safety Management System’ of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Including 23 playgrounds this study focuses on, only about 0.03% of them are inclusive playgrounds, indicating a significant lack of play space and facilities for children with disabilities. For increasing the quality of playgrounds and promoting the no-obstacle inclusive playgrounds, this study examines the existing literature and conducts a field study. The selected 23 inclusive playgrounds are first classified by regions and types. Then, the field study examines the space configuration for convenient traffic and facilities for disabled children. Furthermore, it analyzes the status of playground equipment by type and design features. The inclusive playgrounds reflect the necessity of the inclusive play-space, where children can freely use the equipment regardless of whether they have a disability or not. Instead of having a separate facility for disabled children, we need to have playgrounds with diverse levels and different types of equipment that have inclusive designs, allowing children to play according to their physical conditions and capabilities. As the environment for inclusive playgrounds is substantially limited, the application of inclusive designs to general playgrounds will create a good play-space of our society, where people get together and pursue ‘social values’.
