This article analyses the resent works of Korean artist Hong Lee Hyunsook through the concept of affect and media theory. Since her first exhibition in 1988, the artist has used a variety of media, such as installation, moving image and performance to discuss the free and independent subject that resists patriarchal Korean society and perspectives. In resent works, she focused on the relationship with nonhuman by using sense of acoustic and tactile. Moreover, in Ejght Lightvessels and Each One’‘s Own Ieodo, media allow audiences to relate with nonhuman. I explore this aspect through Levi Bryant’s Machine-oriented Ontology. Also, the nature of the experience is addressed through the concept of affect, focusing on Brian Masumi, in that the experience provided by works is embodied in our body at the level of affect. At last I analyse the affective experience in Hong Lee Hyunsook’s resent works through Massumi and Jane Bennett’s perspectives related political aspect of affect.
