This study suggests the regeneration design method for Multi-dimensional Street Space, through suggesting design methods in Yeongdeungpo Market Intersection and Yeongdeungpo Newtown Underground Shopping Center. This study is based on the Infratecture theory, which aims for designing not only the architecture and the infrastructure, but the design extends to the combination of architecture and infrastructure, thus creating the convergence space or the multi-dimensional space. The existing urban spaces not only need regeneration in facades or in public spaces, but it needs regeneration in the connection with other existing urban spaces. Most of the approaches focus on the street level connection, but as the density of the urban spaces increases, the vertical connection became more important. With the notion of infratecture, which creates, 1. event continuity, 2. uncanny events, 3. public spaces, in the city, the regeneration method suggested in this research will make alternative use of urban spaces, and rehabilitate the urban connections. The research site, Yeongdeungpo Market Intersection, and Yeongdeungpo Newtown Underground Shopping Center show lack of connection between street level and underground shopping center level. Also, the ventilation and mechanical facilities, stationed on the street level make great disconnection on the street. Focusing on this matter, this study will propose design methods; a void type space and a floor type space, to improve the currently isolated and segregated spaces. With suggested design methods, the Yeongdeungpo Market Intersection and Yeongdeungpo Newtown Underground Shopping Center will be functional space in an urban context and provide people a place to experience. Thus, making the area to create its own atmosphere and become a unique commercial place, rather than the dislocated shopping center.
