The purpose of this study is to develop a career group counseling program for 20s’ retired athletes based on Adler's counseling theory. Based on prior research, career group counseling programs were developed in six stages and 12 sessions (60 minutes per session). After conducting preliminary research on three retired female athletes in their 20s, experts were evaluated. The final career group counseling program was provided to experimental group consisting of retired athletes 6 in their 20s. In order to verify the effectiveness of the career group counseling program, pre- and post-test were conducted using career decision-making self-efficacy, career indecision, and career attitude maturity questionnaires. The results of the study are as follows. First, statistically significant differences between time and group were found throughout occupational information collection, goal selection, future planning and career decision-making self-efficacy. Second, statistically significant differences between time and group were found throughout lack of job information, and indecisive characteristics. Third, statistically significant differences between time and group have been shown in certainty, independence, and career attitude maturity. These results can be interpreted that the career group counseling program developed based on Adler's counseling theory has a positive effect on career decision-making self-efficacy, career undecidedness, and career attitude maturity for retired athletes in their 20s. This study will help retirees in their 20s make a smooth career transition and further contribute to the search for stable social adaptation.
