Obesity prevalence has increased, obesity is a major public health problem to a large proportion of the world. The purpose of this study is to understand the overall adult obesity system, diagnose problems and find solutions by establishing a causal relationship among the variables of adult obesity and analyzing a dynamic structure.
The Causal Loop Diagram(CLD) structure of adult obesity has five reinforcing loops and three balancing loops. The phenomenon of obesity was analyzed with a socio-ecological perspective. This approach comprises intrapersonal, interpersonal, and community levels. First, in intrapersonal level, the main subjects of CLD are weight control, adjustment of target weight and stress. Second, in interpersonal level, the main subjects of CLD are adjustment of target weight through the interaction and sharing lifestyle. Third, in community level the main subjects of CLD are media, life environment, social organization, and public policy. Through this study, it was possible to confirm that the factors related to adult obesity are complexly connected, and that systems closely interact with environments.
