In 2013, China began to build the One Belt One Road initiative along the old Silk Road. The entire project is part of the "belt line" initiative that connects East Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. The Silk Road over the sea connects Europe, East China Sea and the Indian Ocean to the South Pacific from the Pacific coast. This project focuses on building roads, railways, sea, airways, oil pipelines, power lines and communication systems to strengthen inter-regional connections.
In fact, China's One Belt One Road project is capable of controlling both Eurasian and African continents. The impact of implementing the One Belt One Road initiative is not small. From the influence of the world economy, the One Belt One Road project has influenced politics, military, security, international status, especially the national unity power of major countries in the South China Sea.
Through this paper was analyzed data related to the content and policy of the Chinese government's The Belt and Road project to be able to objectively assess this project. Through analysis of the current content and context of the One Belt of Road project, it is possible to analyze its impact on the Vietnamese economy and society. According to Vietnam Customs statistics in 2021, two-way trade turnover reached USD 165.8 billion, up 24.6% year-on-year in 2020. The development of trade between Vietnam and China could provide many opportunities for development for Vietnam as China is accelerating new projects under the The Belt and Road project. Therefore, Viet Nam is facing many opportunities and challenges when it comes to participating in China's The Belt and Road initiative.
Therefore, a single-track belt of China, which is operating from a political, economic, commercial, cultural, human exchanges and globalization perspective, has a direct impact on the Vietnamese economy in recent years and will have a great impact on economic development policy.
The purpose of this study is to improve practical understanding of the characteristics and content of China's The Belt and Road initiative, examine the meaning of the China's The Belt and Road initiative from China's perspective, and present Vietnam's countermeasures against with China's The Belt and Road initiative.
