H.P. Lovecraft is an author whose legacy is still alive and popular almost one century after his death. One of the most characteristic elements of his narratives are the foreign entities, often said to be indescribable. However, this hardship doesn't (and shouldn't) prevent creatives from using and adapting Lovecraftian narratives and creatures on different pieces of media.
This thesis begins to explore how the indescribable elements of Lovecraftian stories can be adapted to a visual-based medium while retaining its dreadful aura. The chosen support for this work were the feature films The Curse (1987) and Color Out of Space (2019), both adaptations from the short story The Colour Out of Space (1927).
