The rapidly changing world and environment often bring great challenges to enterprises and projects, which affect the operation of organizations and the smooth completion of projects. The operation and performance of the team will affect the management performance of the project. In the turbulent environment, how to lead the teams to resist the negative impact of environmental change and time pressure, to work more creatively and efficiently, is a problem worthy of study in project management. The purpose of the study was to investigate how to improve the management performance of projects under the influence of leaders and teams. This relationship model which included five variables i.e. temporal leadership, team resilience, team reflexivity, team creativity, and project management performance was established, and their influencing mechanisms were discussed. Data was collected from 302 samples including project leaders and team members who worked in construction projects in China. The results show that temporal leadership has a positive effect on team reflexivity, team resilience, team creativity, and project management performance. Team reflexivity and team resilience mediated the relationship between temporal leadership and team creativity. Team reflexivity, team resilience and team creativity mediated the relationship between temporal leadership and project management performance. The relationship between temporal leadership and project management performance was sequentially and positively mediated by team resilience and team creativity, team reflexivity and team creativity. According to the results of the research, implications and suggestions for future studies are proposed.
