This study investigated the relationship between satisfaction and immersion through the organization fit and job fit of industrial catering workers. Additionally, the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational immersion was examined using job engagement as a mediator. The purpose of this study is to present fundamental data for the efficient operation of industrial catering services and the training of human resources for industrial catering workers. The survey subjects were 423 catering workers working for industrial group catering companies in Busan and Gyeongnam. IBM SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0 statistical programs were used for the analysis. Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, variance analysis, correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation model were used to verify the structural relationship between factors and the suitability and causal relationship of the overall model.
As a result of hypothesis verification, organizational fit showed a negative (-) effect on the relationship between job engagement and a positive (+) effect on the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational immersion.
Job fit showed a negative (-) influence relationship on the organizational immersion and a positive (+) influence on the relationship between job en and job engagement and satisfaction. Job engagement showed a negative (-) impact on job satisfaction and a positive (+) influence relationship on the organizational immersion, and job satisfaction showed a positive (+) influence on the organizational immersion. Job engagement mediated organizational fit and job satisfaction, job fit, and organizational immersion. As an implication of the study, when an organization manages human resources, it is necessary for employees to understand the organization and job accurately. Therefore, providing sufficient support so that they can be satisfied with their job and immerse themselves in the organization will ultimately increase the performance and efficiency of the company.
When employees can stabilize their jobs and give them satisfaction, they will have the will to immerse themselves in their careers and further improve their job performance. Therefore, this study suggests that organizations need efficient human resources management measures such as salaries, incentives, and education to satisfy workers with their jobs.
To increase the competitiveness of catering companies, companies should continue to seek to support efficient human resources and operate organizations to find job satisfaction factors and immerse themselves in the organization.
