This study was designed to evaluate the correlation between Psychological trauma and Cognitive function in North Korean Refugees. The study subjects were 71 people. It was 28 people from North Korea who experienced psychological trauma, 33 people from South Korea who did not experience psychological trauma and 10 people from South Korea who experience psychological trauma. The Neurocognitive Test is performed and Event-related potential was measured.
The major findings of this study are as follows;
There were significant difference among three groups in Stroop Color-Word Test, Trail Making Test, Digit Span and Coding, Mismatch Negative amplitudes and P300 amplitudes.
The result showed that the North Korean Refugees group's Cognitive Function is more impaired compared to the South Korean groups.
