This paper is a Study on the formation of Christian's sexual perception or attitude, what is gender and sexual awareness and what factors affect the formation of rituals. In this paper, it is regarded the sexual value as an important factor influencing their attitude. Everyone has their own values and believes, and these influence the attitudes and actions of living and this is also applied into sexual issues. Moreover, the perceptions and values, what a person has about gender and sexual perception, affects sexual one's behavior. Therefore, the establishment of gender and sexual values is a very important issue of one's life.
Today, many modern people's sense of sex is rapidly changing. This, coupled with the development of the rapidly growing economy, has also affected Korean society and Korean churches. Modern society is an era when the value of traditional sexual ethics and values and norms are questioned and considered them a tool of pleasure. Since Christianity was introduced to Korea, Korean Christianity has also been put under the same situation. Therefore, not only non-Christians but also Christians are in confusion about sexual ethics and values and there seems to be no clear and right standard of coming of age. For this reason, Christians cannot have a positive influence on non-Christians in terms of sexual perception and ethics.
The purpose of this study is to identify sexual ethics in Korea and to suggest sexuality and sexual ethics in the Bible and to gender values for establishing Christian sexual ethics. For this, this study conducts qualitative research on government statistics, internet, and thesis.
This paper consists of six chapters. Chapter 1. describes the necessity, purpose and method of the research. Chapter 2. analyzes the factors that affect gender ethics, sexual ethics, sexual values as a theoretical background. The third chapter looks into the current status of sexual values and sex education in Korea and the perception of premarital chastity. Chapter 4. examines the New Testament and the Old Testament about how the Bible speaks about sexual ethics. Chapter 5. presents the direction of education on sexual ethics based on the Bible. Chapter 6. summarizes the contents of this paper and presents some implications.
The Bible says that the sex is God's creation. God created men and women along with His own image, and blessed men and women. In Bible, sexual relation clearly limits for couples who married. However, education of the value and ethic of sex in modern societies do not provide for Christians. Christian values mean that everything is central to the Bible. In other words, it accepts the values of sexuality and sexuality in the Bible, and lives according to Christian values. When Christians live with a clear sense of ethic on sex and sexual relation, they can also positive influence non-Christians.
