In order to prevent cardiovascular diseases that directly affects life, Dyslipidemia should be managed efficiently. But modern people have various predispositions that cause dyslipidemia such as lack of exercise, excessive nutrition, irregular lifestyle rhythm, etc. So people are prone to dealing with dyslipidemia depending on drugs and herbal medicine attracts attention as a drugs with less side effects. The present study was designed to evaluate the effect ofGDT on dyslipidemia in vivo.
The results of this study were obtained as follows ;
1. Liver function test
GDT significantly decreased AST, ALT, ALP level in serum of dyslipidemia mice model.(Only 200mg/kg group had no significant ALP reduction compared to the control group)
2. Serum lipid metabolism factor production
GDT significantly decreased TC, LDL-cholesterol, TG, VLDL, ApoB and significantly increased HDL-cholesterol in serum of dyslipidemia mice model.(Only 200mg/kg group had no significant ApoB reduction compared to the control group)
3. Production of lipid metabolism factor in liver tissue
(1) GDT significantly decreased TC, LDL-cholesterol, TG, VLDL, ApoB in serum of dyslipidemia mice model.(Only 200mg/kg group had no significant ApoB reduction compared to the control group)
(2) 400mg/kg GDT group significantly increased HDL-cholesterol in serum of dyslipidemia mice model.
4. Anti-oxidant enzymes activity in liver tissue
400mg/kg GDT group significantly increased SOD, CAT levels and significantly decreased MDA levels in liver of dyslipidemia mouse model.
5. Gene expression level in liver tissue
(1) GDT significantly decreased SREBP1, FAS mRNA expression in liver of dyslipidemia mice model.
(2) 400mg/kg GDT group significantly decreased ACC1, SCD1 mRNA expression in liver of dyslipidemia mice model.
(3) 400mg/kg GDT group significantly increased PPAR-α , CPT1 mRNA expression in liver of dyslipidemia mice model.
6. Protein expression level inliver tissue
(1) GDT significantly decreased SREBP1, FAS, SCD1 protein expression in liver of dyslipidemia mice model.
(2) 400mg/kg GDT group significantly increased PPAR-α protein expression in liver of dyslipidemia mice model.
7. Histological analysis
GDT significantly decreased the size of fat between liver cells
This study showed that GDT has the effect of improving metabolic factor production and protecting liver tissue from dyslipidemia.
