This study aims at investigating the actual conditions of smart education and the knowledge and understanding that special education teachers have with regard to smarteducation. On the basis of the analysis of the merits and demerits of smart education, we have tried to seek the solutions to the problems with which smart education is faced, and to devise the proper measures to apply smart education to the field of education of disabled students.
With this in mind, wehavehad surveyed 40 speciale ducation teachers in Gangwondo Province between July and August in 2013 to collect the data which would show the realities of smart education, and have also had personalinterviews with them to understand their recognition of smarte ducation. SPSS 20.0 was used for the analysis of the data.
The two main subjects which we have set up for the study are:
1. What are the special education teachers application realities of smart education?
2. What are their recognition of and attitude toward smart education?
The results are as follows.:
Firstly, it is observed that the frequency of the practical use of smart education is low. Most of the teachers agree that smart education, if properly applied, is effective both for the motivation and for the improvement of concentration, irrespective of subjects which teachers choose to teach. In this respect, it is essential that much more efforts should be made to expand smart educational contents and to make an easier access to the mechanical devices.
Secondly, it is also found out that special education teachers seem not to fully activate smart education in the field, even though they recognize its effectiveness and importance.
Thirdly, special education teachers' accessibility to smart education is low. There seem to be a lot of reasons for this, such as the lack of content and the insufficient consideration of disability types. In order to handle this problem, it is recommende to encourage teachers to study and have more interestin smart education, and to improve upon the specialeducation teaching methods.
