This study is about the characteristics appearing on the missionary expansionary history of the early Christianity. Until now, most of the study has been concerned with the view point on the ecclesiastical history. So I will present a study from the view point on the history of missions, and I especially concentrated on the first three centuries.
Throughout the missionary expansionary history of the early Christianity in the first three centuries, I found some missionary characteristics. Theses characteristics are; 1) cross-cultural mission, 2) mission of eschatological belief, 3) mission of holistic salvation, 4) mission of cooperation and unity, 5) 'missio Dei'. These are always able to apply as missionary principles because these are transcendental principles. Therefore I will try to adopt these missionary principles to today's mission. They are as follows: 1) It should be focused on understanding-oriented mission for listener. 2) It should be established a local church for preservation of eschatological belief. 3) It should be the mission as gospel of holistic salvation for this world. 4) We should do the mission of cooperated and united church following the guidance of Holy spirit and the understanding as the tools of 'missio Dei'.
I expect the Gospel of salvation will spread over the world and preserve it to last day of Christ.
