This study is on the teaching-learning of writing through making UCC. The classes were designed to make UCC, which was expected to facilitate a process-based writing. The purpose of this study was to present a concrete way of writing by using a medium.
The subjects in this study were 23 second graders of Y high school in the city of Andong, who are randomly divided into 4 groups. In order to make UCC, each group wrote a script as the first activity, which was made up of pre-writing, while-writing and post-writing activity. After writing a script through group discussion, each group posted the script on the website, where they could get other groups' opinions about it. And they made use of the opinions to modify and improve their script. After writing a script through group discussion, each group modified and improved the script using the opinions from other groups on the internet. This process shows a model of process-based approach.
Based on the completed script, each group started to make an UCC. By deciding each role in a group, they started to shoot a film. When they finished shooting the film, they chose some desired scenes and put them together using computer programs.
