In this study, the aspect on the beauty of Madam Suro that even ghost had desired being reborn as modern poems and modern novels in the present age by examining 〈Heonhwaga (The Song of Offering Flowers)〉 recorded in the 『Samgukyusa (The Heritage of the Three States)』
In the modern poems, the beauty of Madam Suro by Jung-Joo Suh which was faithful to the original text and other modified poems of several poets have been introduced.
Jung-Joo Suh states the relationship between the beauty of Madam Suro and old man who driving cattle or East Sea Dragon within the limits of original text. In this respect, his poem lets us know that it is consistent with the faithful acceptance of 〈Heonhwaga〉. On the other hand, it could be found that the modified poem of Hyo-Chi Moon or the poems of Jin Dan Si members (Cheon-Hak Kwon, Kyu-Hwa Kim, Seung-Woo Yoo, Jin-Hwan Park, Kyu-Ho Shin, Bo Im, Ui-Hong Jung and Hae-Ri Hong, etc) as the ones that have indirectly expressed beauty of Madam Suro become revealed as 'love song' that have removed the unique veil of 〈Heonhwaga〉 and actively revealed the intention.
It could be said that the personality of author was revealed in a form of modification which is not a simple acceptance of Heonhwaga.
In the modern novels, the fictionalization of 〈Heonhwaga〉 was examined through 'On the Edge of that Purple rock' by Jang-Dong Kim and the world of oneness of god and man was shown through 「Madam Suro」 of Dong-Ri Kim.
The characteristics of these two novels is that the writers tried to write fairy-tales as much as possible while writing the novel in the course events in the story while the delicacy of accompanying impressions for the readers to understand as the details of lyrics are revived as they are.
The modification of 〈Heonhwaga〉 in modern literature has been examined.
Although each expression and organization was different, the beauty of Madam Suro was the thing which goes back and forth the history and playing the role as a mediator twisting the heart of love could be seen as the similarity.
The study should not be performed separately by itself such as the ancient literature as ancient literature by itself or modern literature as modern literature by itself, but a traditional vein connecting these two must be found to be studied all together. The traditional vein flowing in our poems, this becomes a good guide to straighten the divided history of literature and furthermore to present where our literature should advance to.
