This is a study on the teaching methods for integrated Korean through the use of Korean drama which currently has increased it influence abroad through the mass media. Some of the strong points of this method can be found in the conversations that take place in the Korean dramas education. The model utilizes "Korea Drama" that is an image medium to interest and motivate learners based on language functions, language knowledge, and the integration of teachers and learners. This study attempts to find a method of teaching Korean through Korean dramas not through the conventional means of the TV but through the use of the Internet.
In the first chapter the writer examined the scope of influence of the Korean language outside of Korea and emphasizes the need for research on the teaching methods for Korean through Korean drama.
Chapter 2 reviewed the concept of "integration" in language education, integrated lectures are needed for studying the language, society and culture of the target language and have advantages of improving communication skills and being applicable to everyday life. The organization principles of integrated lectures are language functions, language knowledge, human variables and, classroom environment.
Chapter 3 reviewed the writer offers in detail the teaching method that makes use of integrated Korean drama. The writer will first present a standard to be used in the selection of Korean drama.
Chapter 4 reviewed the writer has constructed lesson plans that can be incorporated in the classroom that reflects the teaching methods mentioned above. The writer will present the method for teaching Korean using the selected drama based on the standard that was introduced.
Chapter 5 reviewed lesson plans written by a real second Intermediate Korean classes, the results are then applied to the questionnaires through the learners in a class using drama and weaknesses analyzed. Based on this analysis, educational materials about using drama as a couple I will also try and get kind of suggestion. The writer concludes this study by underscoring the need for further studies on the teaching method of Korean through the use of Korean drama.
