The purpose of this study is to suggest teaching methodology which can help students internalize the contents of the full-length novel, 『Open Square』 author Choe In-Hoon. At the same time, this study will suggest teaching-learning methods for use in the classroom.
I analysed the contents of the novel which is now being dealt with in 16 literature textbooks in high school, and produced learning elements for internalization of the contents.
Based on the learning elements, I also designed teaching-learning methods successively for learners to internalize contents of the novel.
Finally, I made a teaching-learning plan based on internalization on the contents, which can be used in the classroom.
With these teaching-learning methods, learners will be able to think about how to live a life they truly desire, looking into the main characters' lives in the novel.
We can also think about the issue of unification of the two Koreas which are still divided.
This study will systematically provide strategic activities which will make learners understand and internalize 『Open Square』.
