Naong monk's Buddhist Gasa is a highly precious material in a way that the Buddhist Gasa is characterized by the first text contains concrete Buddhist thought and shows the attributes of Buddhist Gasa well. Whereupon, this study has tried to discuss the educational characteristic and study on the literary figuration of Buddhist Gasa that has not been conferred seriously so far.
In the second chapter of educational characteristic of Naong monk's Buddhist Gasa, it has been discussed from religious education to Korean language education aspect. It has been checked that Buddhist Gasa introduced and promoted Buddhism to the public through the analysis of the work. In addition, it has been figured out that the use of language's aspect changed.
In this regard, the object of education is classified into internal objects and external objects. The author of Naong monk and the characters who appear as spectators in the work have been focused as the internal object of education. The external object of education is the public. Furthermore, when Buddhism was recorded as a literature, readers during that time, modern people and students of the field are considered as external objects of education.
The third chapter of the literary figuration of Naong monk's Buddhist Gasa discusses about meter and mood. Naong monk's works have changeable meter. It is perceived that declarative sentences and exclamatory sentences are mainly the structure in the mood that is shown in Naong monk's works. The sensuous image that can be esthetically felt by audiences is mainly used in Naong monk's Buddhist Gasa. Not only specific rhetoric is mainly used in the work, but also is diverse rhetoric.
In chapter four the literary significance of Naong monk's Buddist Gasa is divided into three elements. First, in the value of the literary essence, it grasps the literary characteristics of Naong monk's work and its instructional function as well as pleasant function. Second, the value of poetic essays discusses why Gasa held a dominant position in the competition with Kyungkichega that synchronically existed at that time. Finally, of historical development of the poetic essays encompasses the reason why Gasa literature had developed since late Koryo until the early Chosun from a diachronic point of view.
Scholar have focused on the revealing who the real author Seungwonga and analyzing the work itself. Hence, the study implies that Naong monk's Buddhist Gasa has educational characteristic and it can be taught in the field of education. It is hoped that Naong monk's Buddhist Gasa would be newly evaluated as an educational literature.
