This study was intended to analyze aesthetic consciousness attitude and psychological relation in high school students and suggest the direction of establishing correct values. The purpose of this study was explained and a questionnaire survey was distributed to 850 high school student sample. Self-administration was asked to respond to the survey, inadequate and poor responses were excluded, and finally 805 responses were used for the final analysis.
First, as a result of analyzing difference in sub-factors(aesthetic consciousness, appearance management, interest in appearance), statistically significant difference was found in aesthetic consciousness, appearance management3, and interest in appearance2 in vocational high school students. For difference in stress and sub-factors, while stress3 was high in vocational high school, others were statistically significant in high school. For difference in self-esteem and sub-factors, while self-esteem5 was high in vocational high school, others were relatively high in high school.
Second, as a result of examining the effect of aesthetic consciousness, appearance management, and interest in appearance on stress, interest in appearance1, appearance management2, and aesthetic consciousness1 influenced stress1 with 12.6% of explanation. Interest in appearance1 and interest in appearance2 influenced stress2 with 2.7% of explanation. Interest in appearance1 only influenced stress3 with 6.9% of explanation. Appearance management2, interest in appearance1, and interest in appearance2 influenced stress4 with 4.3% of explanation. Appearance management2, appearance management1, appearance management3, and interest in appearance1 influenced stress5 with 7.8% of explanation.
Third, as a result of examining the effect of aesthetic consciousness, appearance management, and interest in appearance on self-esteem, appearance management1, interest in appearance2, and aesthetic consciousness1 influenced self-esteem1 with 6.8% of explanation. Interest in appearance2, appearance management1, and Interest in appearance1 influenced self-esteem2 with1.8% of explanation. Interest in appearance3 only influenced self-esteem2 with 0.7% of explanation. Aesthetic consciousness1, interest in appearance2, appearance management1, and appearance management3 influenced self-esteem4 with 7.4% of explanation. Interest in appearance2 only influenced self-esteem5 with 2.8% of explanation.
