This study has researched fire safety education on the basis of moral and ethical considerations. As society has been developing rapidly, society tends to be more results-oriented. Consequently, processes have been ignored and at the same time, even human morality has been ignored. This tendency is not exceptional to issues related to safety. Now society is suffering from an illness called "Safety Deaf" which allows people to not feel anything when they don't follow the rules of safety. As a result, many large accidents have occurred in different parts of society and have made citizens feel nervous.
Although there has been fire safety education, the reason why the safety deaf is not disappearing is because of the lack of recognition of the importance of safety education, especially fire safety education. Now, it is important to change the education for children to develop safety consciousness habits from a young age so they will not forget them even when they grow up. And it is just as important to develop values of virtue upon safety. This study has named this process as "Safety Ethics."
"Safety Ethics" stands for a teaching method that allows children to feel safe, think of safety, teach them to speak and act on safety, and moral attitudes that allow them to feel that safety rules must be justly followed. With this, the children will be able to protect themselves from not only current dangers and emergencies but also threats to their safety in the future and allow them to grow up into adults who will be able to protect the others and society from dangerous situations to occur.
There is a need of institutional improvement to resolve the safety deaf that are prevalent in our society and to raise public safety Consciousness. First, the safety ethics education should be settled in. Second, the foundation of early safety education system should be instituted. In order to achieve the foundation, the subject and goal of fire safety education should be presented in detail and safety ethics should be taught in Right Way of Living, a preschoolers curriculum. Third, by initiating a new textbook, 'general safety book,' the safety education should ensure the continuity in elementary schools. Fourth, 'Fire Safety Educator' qualified as an expert in fire safety education of each training site should be utilized to take full advantage of the person. Fifth, the relevant laws and institutions should be improved so that the proposed plan mentioned above can be implemented as soon as possible. In laws related to children's safety education, items of fire safety education should be added and given proper time for fire safety education for its promotion. Thus the improvement of relevant laws and institutions are required to direct, manage and support all these by assigning a department for fire safety education activities governing overall.
Today, our society needs "Safety Ethics Education." Safety Ethics Education must begin at an early age. According to the Bible, it says "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." If we teach the children safety ethics at an early age, even when they grow older, they will always remember these ethics. When there are more people properly educated in Safety Ethics in society, safety consciousness will grow among all citizens and the safety deaf will gradually disappear.
I dearly hope that a safe society can be built in the near future where all citizens can realize their happy lives.
