Real Estate Information Systems are used widely by various classes including professionals, work performers and publics. However, How much the Real Estate Information Systems were constructed with tremendous time and budget is used effectively? or what aspect should be focused in complementing and developing the system to enhance its efficiency? To answer these questions, it would be a very valuable research to study the application and effective operational method of the Real Estate Information Systems.
In addition, this study has its significance in that it is the first research to introduce the 'Success Model of Information System '.
The purposes of this study are as follows: First, this study is aimed to propose the basis and directions for the development of the 'model of information system success'.
Second, this study is aimed to examine how the system quality, information quality and service quality of the real estate information system are related with the system use, user satisfaction and work performance.
Therefore, for the independent variable, this study used the quality variables of the real estate information system including system quality, information quality and service quality based on the previous empirical study findings. For the mediating variable, this study used system use and user satisfaction. For the responding variable, this study used work performance of the real estate agent.
For empirical analysis, the questionnaire survey was conducted for the licensed real estate realtors, who are using the real estate information system mostly between November 23, 2009 and December 7, 2009. The total number of questionnaires used for the analysis is 142, which were submitted to SPSS V.12.0.
The result summary is as follows:
First, the real estate information system is mostly used by public organizations, real estate information companies and portal site in order.
Second, among the information quality, system quality and service quality, the information quality is the most important variable in the impact on the work performance. It is also estimated that there is no significant difference in the impact on the work performance between the system quality and service quality.
The implications of this study are as follows:
First, this study has its significance in that it is the first attempt to propose the direction in establishing the 'Success Model of Information System ' by applying the success model widely used in the information system.
Second, to introduce and use the real estate information system successfully, it is required to construct the integrated data ware house and introduce/apply the concept of 'enterprise architecture'.
Third, in introducing and using the information system in the real estate field, this study may facilitate the research on the successful and effective performances.
Fourth, this study may lay the foundation in establishing the direction for operation and development of the Real Estate Information Systems.
One limitation of this study is that it is subjected to the real estate agents only among various groups that use the information system. Thus, in the future studies, the target group should be extended to other various groups and more specific information systems among various ones should be studied on more practical way.
