The purpose of this study is to raise a problem about establishing the existing part of speech in the pragmatic marker 'malida' and to renew the part of speech. 'Malida' is classified into an exclamation in school grammar. However, this discussion was started from a fact that there is no case of being used by being independently separated from grammar component like general exclamation.
As for 'malida,' there is a case of being used literally a meaning in the original word of 'mal +ida.' There is even a case of being used as pragmatic marker. Even out of 'malida,' 'malida,' which is used as pragmatic marker, is classified into an exclamation in school grammar. However, it fails to be used independently like general exclamation, and is also utilized diversely such as 'malimnida' and 'maliya.' Accordingly, it is difficult to see 'malida' simply as exclamation.
Given comparing 'malida' with '-Yo,' which has similar realization aspect and distribution, the distribution of 'malida' is correctly consistent with '- Yo.' 'Malida' and '- Yo' have same agreement relationship between counterpart treatment grades with sentence, which is contained. Thus, even the syntactic character in these two can be said to be much same. Nevertheless, in school grammar, 'malida' is classified into exclamation. '- Yo' is classified into auxiliary particle. As for exclamation, a speaker indicates own intention or emotion. On the other hand, 'malida' has a meaning of emphasis on preceding information, rathe than directly revealing a speaker's intention or emotion. While another exclamations have independence, 'malida' is strong in dependent character. And, exclamation is shown mainly in the beginning of a sentence. On the other hand, 'malida' is not used in the beginning of a sentence, and is strong in application because of morphological characteristics unlike other exclamations. Also, it plays a role of adding a meaning in emphasis and attention concentration to a preceding word, with having free distribution. This is what coincides with characteristics in auxiliary particle.
Accordingly, the pragmatic marker 'malida' closely resembles '-Yo' in its realization aspect and distribution and has more characters in auxiliary particle like '-Yo' than exclamation as for syntactic character. Thus, the part of speech in 'malida' is not exclamation, but needs to be newly established.
