In this research, we studied the anti-oxidation effects of catechin which extracted from green tea on the scalp. For the different catechin concentrations, the anti-oxidation effects, cleansing effects, and anti-inflammation effects were determined with microscopes.
The scalp surface was divided into four sections, which were front area, left and right side area, and back area. The catechin containing solutions, with 25, 50, and 100 ㎎/L of catechin, were applied onto designated area and the changes of scalp were photographed everyday for further analysis. The antioxidation effect was increased with the increase of catechin concentration and the lipid concentration was rapidly decreased with catechin increased. Dandruff was rapidly removed with 100 ㎎/L of cathchin treatment and lipid was well controlled with high concentration of catechin. The inflammation in the front area was rapidly recovered with 100 ㎎/L of catechin.
