The study theorizes the explanation activity of culture tourism narrators, develops how to measure the activity, and examines the effects culture tourism narrators' explanation activity has on the satisfaction and revisiting of tourists. To do this, I have examined the previous researches, looked into the theoretical background, set the hypotheses and the measurement tools for explaining the research issues, and analyzed them positively. To accomplish the purpose, I examine the previous studies, and I carry out the document study and positive analysis side by side.
The sample survey for the positive research was done at 17 cultural sightseeing places in Daegu: Daegu Confucian Temple, Kyoung-sang Gam-young Park, Pagae Temple, Boo-in Temple, Nok-dong Lecture Hall, Yong-yeon Temple, and so on). The tourists who visited the above places and listened to the explanation from the culture tourism narrators were the objects of the sample survey. To have the authentic questionnaire, I asked my fellow undergraduates and graduates who completed a Tourism Academy in Daegu for help. First, I instructed them in the purpose of the study and its contents in advance. With their help, I polled the tourists visiting cultural sightseeing places in Daegu and performed preliminary interviews and questionnaires to make up the question items in the survey. In addition, I corrected the problems found in the preliminary questionnaire and made the final questionnaire, including explanation activity of culture tourism narrators, tourist satisfaction and their revisit, Respondents' traits, and Demographic features as the question items. 100 copies of the questionnaire were distributed in the heart of Daegu, another 100 around Pal-gong mountain, and the other 100 around Dal-sung. The survey was led by me and graduates from Tourism Academy in Daegu, who gained the agreement from the tourists visiting the above places. Before the tourists filled out the survey for themselves, they had been taught how to fill it out. Out of all the collected questionnaires, 63 copies lacking sincerity in answers were excluded, and 237 copies were eventually used. With the help of a statistics program, SPSS/WIN 12.0, the survey materials were analyzed according to frequency, search factors, and reliability. To figure out the connection between these parameters, simple and multi-return analysis was done, too.
The result of the study examined through the process of the study and positive analysis is summarized like the followings:
First, the hypothesis 1 that the explanation activity of culture tourism narrators has a positive influence on the satisfaction of tourists was accepted. Therefore, it turned out that the sub-factors of the explanation activity of culture tourism narrators such as work-related knowledge, communication, and kindness affected the tourists listening to the explanation from narrators in cultural sightseeing places in a positive way. When culture tourism narrators explain the history of cultural sightseeing places in detail and show them around in person, the degree of tourists' satisfaction gets increased.
Second, the hypothesis 2 that the explanation activity of culture tourism narrators has a positive influence on the revisit intention of tourists was accepted. Communication, and kindness, the sub-factors of the explanation activity of culture tourism narrators, have a good effect on the tourists listening to the explanation from narrators in cultural sightseeing places whereas another sub-factor, work-related knowledge, has little influence on them. When culture tourism narrators answer any kinds of questions from tourists well, give a suitable explanation for each level of tourists, build up good rapport with them, and show them courtesy and interest, the revisit intention of tourists is very high.
Third, the hypothesis 3 that the satisfaction of tourists has a positive influence on their revisit intention was accepted. To enhance the satisfaction and the revisit intention of tourists visiting cultural sightseeing places, a high quality of explanation program should be provided. Then, content tourists will make good advice and recommendation on the places they visited to their friends and acquaintances.
