For more than a decade, digital media have been approached as a new and challenging subject matter from a variety of academic disciplines. We have seen a series of first encounters in which established theoretical traditions with their existing conceptual frameworks are applied, more or less directly, to the new digital artifacts, their uses and influences. With digital media the act of reading extends beyond the visual field of perception toward multimodal and multisensory relationship.

We take motion for granted. Virtually every activity we do in a day involves motion. There are many different kinds of motions that occur in nature, and that are caused by humans and machines. Riding a bicycle to school, walking to class, the liquid flowing into your cup of coffee and the motion of the text book you accidentally drop as you dash to class, all represent various forms that motion can take. I would like to classify these motions into three large groups which are person's motions, object motions and graphic motions.

These motions usually happen independently and occur one at a time. One thing comes after another or comes before other movement. But, what would happen if the motions work together in same time and same space? We can see this as "motions sparkle".

Motion sparkle could make a new way of initiating motion and it can be connected with our 'Digital media design', a different way to show the new motion design.
