This paper aims to identify the problems of modernism through a critique of Meillassoux's correlationism and to consider the possibility of a new ontology and recovery of life in ecological crisis. Meillassoux mentions Kant as a weak correlationist, and phenomenologists including Heidegger and Wittgenstein as strong correlationists. Kant's object-in-itself is requested because it is not recognized. On the other hand, phenomenologists and Wittgenstein, who are criticized for their strong correlationism, do not acknowledge the reality of things because they view existence as meaningful only in the correlation between consciousness and language. Meillassoux's position on speculative realism can be confirmed in the criticism of correlationism, which states that it should be possible to think of existence regardless of human thought. These discussions lead us to ‘alien beings’ and serve as an opportunity to recover beings deleted from the production system. However, the absolutes that Meillassoux brings out are criticized as even if it exists beyond thought, it is nothing but dead matter. As such, there is no alternative to the ecological crisis. Therefore, we reconsider Merleau-Ponty's body theory as a generative body and a connected body and propose it as an alternative for a new ontology.
