This exploratory study leveraged big data from social media platforms recorded on Korean web portals to gather insights into the concept of "soul food" as perceived by Koreans. Extracted content served as the basis for conducting text mining analysis and social network analysis, to delve into the relationships surrounding the menus associated with Koreans' soul food preferences. By analyzing word data collected from 2018 to 2022 on a yearly basis, it performed annual trend analysis to illuminate the progression of this study. Based on the research results, specific menus were selected from the related words of the collected soul food. The most frequent menu was "tteokbokki(stir-fried rice cake)," followed by "fried chicken" and "pork cutlet(tonkatsu)." Soul food for Koreans was shown to be related to the food experienced in an individual's childhood that are connected to positive affectivity and represent the sense of belonging of family and friends were highly frequent. These results are related to the character of comfort food that has psychological stability through food.
