This study aimed to evaluate whether Korean counselors label themselves as feminist or feminist counselors practice feminist therapy behaviors more during the counseling sessions than those who do not and to understand the relationship between labeling themselves as feminist or feminist counselors and feminist therapy behaviors. We translated the Feminist Therapy Behavior-Revised Scale, surveyed 133 Korean counselors using the scale, and confirmed the scale's subfactors using factor analysis. We then examined the relationship between feminist therapy behaviors and self-labeling by counselors as feminists, feminist counselors, or counselors practicing feminist therapy. We found that the self-labeling of counselors and all the subfactors of feminist therapy behaviors (‘Personal is political.’, ‘Empowerment.’, ‘Assertiveness/Autonomy.’) were positively related, especially with respect to the ‘Personal is political.’ factor Furthermore, the higher the level of self-labeling by counselors was (feminist, feminist counselor, counselor who practice feminist counseling), the more feminist therapy behaviors were practiced. This suggests that the self-labeling of counselors has an intimate relationship with the therapy behaviors of counselors.
