Purpose This study analyzed the factors that influence the job stress profiles of women managers and compared each profile characteristics.
Methods We conducted a latent profile analysis on 1,464 women managers in the 7th survey of the Korean Women Manager Panel.
Results Four profiles were delineated according to the degree of job stress experienced by women managers: 1) Low Stress, 2) Medium Stress, 3) High Workload and Competition Stress, and 4) High Job Fit Stress. Among the influencing factors on job stress profiles, individual elements such as work-family conflict and leadership competence, and organizational factors such as perceived supervisor support and organizational commitment, were identified as significant. In addition, the outcome variables of career aspirations, organizational commitment, and life satisfaction showed notable differences across these profiles.
Conclusion Based on these findings, we discussed how to manage individual job stress among women managers based on different types of job stress and explored alternative approaches to increase both work and life satisfaction.
