본 연구는 우리나라 기혼여성의 노동시장 이행궤적을 유형화함으로써 결혼과 출산이라고 하는 생애 사건에 따른 통합적인 노동시장 변화에 대한 이해를 돕고 최근 우리 사회의 급격한 변화를 겪고 있는 사회문화 심리적 요인인 성 역할 가치관이 여성 노동시장 이행궤적에 미치는 영향력을 동태적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 여성가족패널조사(KLoWF)의 1차~8차까지 14년간의 시계열 자료를 활용하고 집단중심추세모형(Group-based Trajectory Models)의 방법론을 적용하여 여성의 결혼과 출산에 따른 집단별 최적의 노동시장 지위 변화 유형을 도출하고, 각 유형의 의미를 선행연구 고찰을 통해 분석하였다. 더 나아가 다항 로짓 모델을 적용하여 성 역할 가치관의 영향력을 중심으로 하여 다양한 결정요인을 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기혼여성의 노동시장 이행궤적은 ‘노동시장 지속이탈형’, ‘중기 일시정규직 진입형’, ‘후기 정규직 진입형’, ‘비정규직 이탈형’, ‘내 사업 이탈형’, ‘정규직 이탈형’ 6개의 유형으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 본 분석 유형의 대표적인 특징으로 장기간 지속하여 노동시장을 이탈하는 기혼여성의 비중이 감소하였고, 중·후반부에 전격적으로 정규직 임금 일자리에 진입하는 독특한 특성의 유형이 추세로 분석되었다. 셋째, 기혼여성의 노동시장 이행궤적의 결정요인으로 연령, 학력, 가구소득, 출산 여부, 자녀 수가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었고, 특히 성 역할 가치관의 영향력 역시 유의성이 검증되었다. 본 연구는 여성의 결혼과 출산에 따른 노동시장 이행궤적의 복합적이고 다면적인 변화에 대한 이해를 돕고 우리 사회의 평등적 성 역할 가치관과 여성 노동시장의 경쟁력 제고를 위한 정책적 제안을 강조하였다.
This study aims to help understand the overall changes in the labor market among married women in Korea based on their life events including marriage and childbirth, by classifying the trajectory of their labor market transition into different types. In this regard, this study offers a dynamic analysis on how the values of gender roles, the sociocultural and psycological factors under rapid changes in our society, affect the trajectory of women’s labor market transition.
In order to analyze the labor market tranition trajectory of married woman in Korea, this study utilizes data from the 1st to 8th KLoWF and by applying the methodology of GBTM, the optimal labor market status change type for each group according to women’s marriage and childbirth was derived, and the meaning of each type was analyzed through a review of previous studies. Furthermore, a multinomial logit model was applied to analyze the determinants of the change in the status of married women in the labor market, especially focusing on the influence of gender role values. The results of this study are as follows. First, Six types were analyzed. Second, as a representative feature of this type of analysis, the proportion of married women who continued to leave the labor market for a long period of time decreased, and a type of unique characteristics that suddenly entered regular wage jobs in the middle and late stages was analyzed as a trend. Third, the influence of gender role values was also verified. This study helped understand the complex and multifaceted changes in the labor market transition trajectory following women’s marriage and childbirth, and emphasized policy proposals to enhance the competitiveness of women’s labor market and the values of equal gender roles in our society.
