This study examines self-disclosure and changes in contents thereof based on fiveconversations between two Korean learners and Japanese native speaker students. Evidently, in line with prior literature, learners appeared numerous times and werespontaneous. Native speakers, on the contrary, were less spontaneous and subjective:they exhibited no downward trend when they saw the number of appearancesthroughout the five sessions. This finding deviates from prior conclusions. Further, thenumber of appearances and changes in content were influenced most by the appearance and development of topics. Five main development structures for self-disclosure were discovered, including self-disclosure expansion type, self-disclosure induction type, andself-disclosure alternative type, as in prior literature. Both learners and native speakerschanged to private content in the latter half. Even when self-disclosure appeared forthe same topic, there was an increase in expression of feelings in concrete content in the latter half as the introduction of topics on familiar life increased as a factor for theincrease in self-disclosure through questioning in the fourth and fifth conversations, it is thought that by this time a relationship had been established in which people couldeasily ask questions and disclose themselves.
