This study aims to conduct basic research to develop an educational evaluation model for Korean, Japanese, and English multilingual classes. This study reports the type of educational evaluation of Korean, Japanese, and English multilingual classes that I have been pursuing in various ways over the past eight years because previous development research on the educational evaluation of multilingual classes has been limited. Specifically, this study presents eight types of educational evaluation in total, as follows: (i) oral evaluation based on CEFR (① individual evaluation by a multilingual faculty member, ② team evaluation by L1/L2/L3 native faculty members), (ii) portfolio performance assessment (③ multilingual speech contest, ④ writing an anthology, ⑤ writing a short essay on multilingualism), and (iii) paper-and-pencil evaluation (⑥ quiz, ⑦ mid-term exam, and ⑧ final exam). Furthermore, with the Higher Education Law Enforcement Ordinance’s revision which will come into effect in August 2023 it is expected that research and development for an educational evaluation model for multilingual classes in Korean, Japanese, and English will become more active. This study proposes that class management according to the level of L2 and L3 students is more effective when conducting an educational evaluation.
