The Sanchuan area of Minhe County in Qinghai Province is a relatively concentrated area of Monguor nationality. We used a survey method combining questionnaires and interviews to investigate the language use and language attitude of the Monguor people in this area. The survey found that the Monguor people in Minhe County use their mother tongue steadily in their families and villages. At the same time, most of the Monguor people are fluent in Chinese, but their native language ability is generally stronger than that of Chinese. There are intergenerational differences in the vocabulary ability of the mother tongue. The older people master more mother tongue vocabulary, and the younger people master less mother tongue vocabulary. In terms of language attitude, the acception of Mandarin and Chinese is relatively high, but the acception of the mother tongue is low.
