The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of diesel engine exhaust pipe system's noise on the wing bridge's loud noise phenomenon. In wing bridge, exhaust noise is considered the major noise source than wall transmitted noise. However, low frequency band noise is considered to be generated by structure's vibration, which is transmitted from diesel engine and exhaust pipe system. To mitigate such noise phenomenon, first, the allowable limit of exhaust noise (or noise limit on wing bridge area) is to be established. In addition, a silencer with enough noise attenuating performance is to be designed according to the allowable limit. Second, funnel walls and structures are to be reinforced robustly to avoid easy-to-vibrate condition. Lastly, proper vibration isolation methods are to be applied to all supporting points of the exhaust system without missing any points.
