The purpose of this study is to offer data for creating bilingual education programs for children of married immigrant mothers by analyzing their perceptions, difficulties, and needs for their children’s bilingual education. To accomplish the goal, in-depth interviews were conducted with ten married immigrant mothers about their children’s bilingual education. The research revealed the following results. The mothers generally had low levels of awareness about their children’s bilingual education. They had different perceptions based on their proficiency in Korean and their mother-tongues, as well as their attitudes about bilingual education. The difficulties they face when they offer bilingual education on their own are as follows: negative reaction from others to their native languages, absence of supporters, less use of their native languages while adapting to their young children’s educational institutions, and lack of knowledge in bilingual education methods. Thus, the married immigrant mothers are seeking the following for their children’s bilingual education: parent education linked to bilingual education and bilingual education methods; bilingual education linked to early childhood educational institutions and local communities; and home visit education.
