In the sudden changes of society, demand for the direction and roles of school education is growing. In this demand, the library can be said to be the mainstay of the role. Therefore, the plan for school libraries are definitely needed to develop school supplies and contents and to use them efficiently, to improve the quality of education in this rapid change and development of society. That is, it is necessary for school library to change from the collection and management of data, letting them be read and lent in the past to the place where manages overall school education, supports students' self study.
Thereupon, this study aims to provide data in planning a interior of a school library with modern, future oriented style by noticing spatial component ratio and the image of interior of the school library.
I chose five elementary schools located in Gwangju or Chun-nam province which reopened new library by remodeling after 2008 and did the spot probe. In the pre-study, I categorized school libraries according to the roles and function. After that, I examined the spatial component, analyzed important factors of the library, the size of each function, and interior image of each domain by taking pictures and real measurement in the spot probe,
