The purpose of this research was to the effects of body rhythm exercise program of flexibility, balance and BMD(bone mineral density) in elderly women. The subjects were divided into two groups of an body rhythm exercise group(50 subjects) and a non-exercise control group with(50 subjects). The subjects in body rhythm exercise program performed was composed of rating of perceived exertion(RPE) 11-13 for 90 minutes, 2 times a week for 36 weeks. All subjects of this study were examined the changes in flexibility, balance and BMD. The results of the study in the body rhythm exercise program group were as follows; It was concluded body rhythm exercise program group had positive effects on weight, % body fat, flexibility, balance and BMD in elderly women.
This suggested that regular body rhythm exercise program performance is effective to bone health for post-menopausal elderly women. Therefore, it is expected that this kind of exercise programs will be useful to resolve potential issues of aged society in near future.
