The aim of this research was study the effects of elastic band and pilates exercise on BMD and body composition in office working women. The subjects of this research were office working women without any metabolic diseases and haven't had regular and vigorous physical activities, aged over 30∼below 40. The subjects were divided into two groups of elastic band and pilates exercise group(8 subjects) and a non-exercise control group(8 subjects). The subjects in elastic band and pilates exercise group performed pilates exercise at an intensity of RPE 11-17(RPE 11-13/1-4weeks, RPE 11-15/5-8weeks, RPE 11-17/9-12weeks) and elastic band exercise at an intensity of RPE 11-13, 8-12 repetions, 1-2set, 90 minutes of exercise time, and the frequency of 2 times a week. All subjects of this study were examined the changes in BMD and body composition. It was concluded elastic band and pilates exercise group had positive effects on BMD, body fat, lean body mass to in working women. These findings indicate that the elastic band and pilates exercise programs were effective to prevent BMD.
