Unlike the size of a domestic film coming to the surface recently, it is continuously recording a minus growth. Moreover, "Real Korean-style Movies", namely, the films reflecting our traditional emotion, culture, and reality are gradually losing their ground in domestic film market. From this viewpoint, among the movies with stories, genres, and size produced in Korea, this research tried to analyze the Korean-style imagery aesthetics targeting director Im, Kwon-taek's 'Chiwhaseon' which made the life of the artist-Jang, Seung-eop during the latter period of the Joseon Dynasty into a movie. As an analytical method of the Korean-style imagery aesthetics, this research looked at which element among the basic components [screen composition, shooting, editing, and acoustics, etc.] contributes to the highlighting the Korean-style beauty of image and introduced the scenes related to this in this research contents. As the analysis result, it was found that not only the realistic period, spatial expression based on mostly Korean traditions but also setting up the characters well fit for the background of the times, characters' expression of Korean-style emotion[movement and lines in screen space, etc.], Oriental painting-like screen composition and story development[folding-screen-type episode], as well as the beauty of image related to the traditional view of the world of Koreans trying to turn to natural life stand out all through the movie. With this research, this research hopes that there could be more active discussion about Korean-style imagery aesthetics
