There are some problems in the structural analysis of the traditional Korean wooden frame(KTF). Especially, the connections of the KTF are very difficult to be modelled in the structural analysis with computer programs. Generally, the connection between column and foundation stone is modelled as a pin support, the connection between members linked through tenon joint etc. is modelled as a pin-connection, and the connection in the Kongpo is modelled with spring elements which have arbitrary spring constants. So, it is necessary to establish a resonable modelling method for the structural analysis of KTF.The purpose of this paper is to present a modelling method for a resonable structural analysis of KTF. For this purpose, a modelling method considering contact effects between members and guaranteeing structural stability is presented. A structural analysis for the Daewoongjeon of Bongjeongsa is performed, and the applicable possibility of this method is investigated on the basis of the analysis results.
