본 연구는 중학생이 체육수업규칙을 어떻게 인식하고 있으며, 수업규칙에 대한 대응전략을 사용하고 있는가를 알아보는데 있다. 이를 위해 중학교 2학년 2개 반과 체육교사 2인을 연구대상으로 하였다. 연구방법은 문화기술적 연구 기법인 참여관찰과 심층면담을 통하여 자료를 수집하였고, 귀납적 범주로 자료를 분석하였다. 중학생들은 체육수업규칙을 ‘교사의 일방적인 수업행동 지침’, ‘처벌의 기준’, 그리고 ‘최소의 수업 규범’으로 인식하고 있었다. 학생들은 수업규칙에 대한 대응전략으로 ‘체육교사의 스타일 파악하여 적응하기’, ‘ 평가관련 규칙을 선별하여 준수하기’ 그리고 ‘상황논리로 규칙 위반하기’ 방식으로 대응하고 있었다.The purposes of this study was to explore students' perceptions toward class rules in physical education (PE) and their cognitive behavioral reactions to the rules. Male and female students in two middle school cleasses and two PE teachers teaching the them participated in the study. We adopted ethnographic methodology and colloected data using participation observation and in-depth interviews. Inductive content analysis of the data resulted in theree major themes in terms of the students' perceptions toward class rules: Teacher' monoploy in making rules and guidelines, providing specific guidelines for punishment, and maintaining least available norms for the class. Stuents' reactions to the calss posicy included 'adaptive behaviors to meet their teacher's style', 'selective attention to evaluation-related rules', and 'finding excuses for violating the rules.'
