The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between students' mindset, grit, and academic failure tolerance in physical education classes in middle school. To achieve this purpose, middle school students in Jeollanam-do were selected as the population, and convenience sampling was used as the sampling method. 440 middle school students participating in physical education classes were selected as a sample, and data on mindset, grit, and academic failure tolerance were collected and analyzed. For data processing, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using the SPSS 24.0 program, and the following conclusions were drawn. First, as a result of analyzing the effect of students' mindset on grit in middle school physical education class, it was found that the growth mindset had a positive effect on the persistence of effort, and the fixed mindset had a negative effect on the consistency of interest. Second, as a result of analyzing the effect of students' mindset on academic failure tolerance in middle school physical education class, it was found that the growth mindset had a positive effect on behavior and task level preference, while the fixed mindset had a negative effect on emotions. Third, as a result of analyzing the effect of students' grit on academic failure tolerance in middle school physical education class, it was found that persistence of effort had a positive effect on behavior and task level preference, and consistency of interest had a positive effect on emotion. In view of these results as a whole, this study found that students' mindset in middle school physical education class had a positive effect on grit and academic failure tolerance.
