Creative Korean traditional music and orchestral music began with Kim Kisoo's "Yellow River Manchujang."After that, in 1965, the "Seoul Municipal Gugak Orchestra" was founded to lead creative Gugak, and numerous Gugak pieces were created that focused on the form of Western orchestras rather than the form of traditional Korean Gugak. Without losing the form of Korean traditional music techniques, Western music techniques were also imitated and accepted, expanding the spectrum of creative Korean traditional music to develop into a Korean traditional orchestra, and to this day, municipal Korean traditional music has been established.
These creative Korean traditional orchestra were formed and composed based on percussion in orchestral composition are orchestral concertos composed by Park Bum-hoon, Lee Kyung-seop's Ta, Wanderer, Janggo Concerto Sonagi, Kim Sung-guk's Sagi, and Jeong Seung-hee's Bon, which are based on percussion. These songs are composed of orchestral melody and traditional music percussion rhythm by creating the rhythm of Korean traditional music with Korean traditional music.
Based on these numerous percussion instruments, the purpose of the study is to study the Samulnori Concerto by composer Jeong Seung-hee among the creative Duan orchestral music. Among the percussion concertos, Nongakak and Dodanggut in Gyeonggi-do are the most used songs, and it is a song made of the traditional Korean percussion rhythm and the rhythm composition of Dodanggut in Gyeonggi-do.
The researcher intends to analyze composer Jeong Seung-hee's 〈Bon〉 as follows. First, the composition of the work is analyzed focusing on the origin of Jungbu Nongak and the pros and cons of Jungbu Nongak. Second, it analyzes the origin of Dodanggut in Gyeonggi-do and the characteristics of the rhythm. Third, the rhythm structure and flow of the Samulnori concerto 〈Bon〉 are analyzed. Through this study, I would like to present an analysis and method on how to use rhythm in the creation of Korean traditional music.
