The point of the research is to examine the relationship between sociodemographic variables (sexual preference, age, etc.). education, family status, maturity level) and job variables (wage, role, duration of tenancy, years of work experience in the hospitality sector, regular hours, career stability, employment stress) on the intention to quit hotel staff in South Korea. The survey's primary data gathering instrument was the internet platform Qualtrics, which was applied to complete online questionnaires. Distribution of the online questionnaire began on July 5th, 2021, and continued until 1st October 2021. The study gathered 153 effective replies from hotel employees and managers in multiple positions at several hotels in South Korea. In the research data analysis, correlation coefficients have been applied to test the hypotheses and determine the relationship between various factors and the employees' turnover intention.
According to the findings of the study, demographic variables such as age and civil status, as well as job elements such as job position, salary structure, duration of tenure, years of work experience in the hospitality sector, work schedule, and job pressure, as well as poor job satisfaction, are indicators of the intention to leave of hotel employees in South Korea. Job satisfaction has been found to have a favorable relationship with turnover intention among hotel employees in South Korea.
