The purpose of this study is to analyze the overall 'Reading One Book Per Semester (ROBPS)' project (which first appeared in the 2015 revised curriculum) and the related activities of 10 high school literature textbooks and also to prepare the 'Reading The Whole Book' education plan regarding medium-length novels so that the new curriculum can move forward with Creative Convergence.
By summarizing the novel "Square", which has been included in most high school literature textbooks so far, the limitations of the education on medium-length novels will be revealed, in addition to providing a better method to read them. A reading plan will also be suggested that can provide meaningful reading activities for learners.
In Chapter 2, the overall "ROBPS" education of the 2015 revised curriculum will be examined, and activities of 'ROBPS' will be summarized. Creative Convergence activities that are included in 10 high school literature textbooks will reveal the limitations of current textbooks and suggest improvements.
In Chapter 3, by surveying students' perceptions about 'ROBPS' and analyzing the patterns of the novel "Square", the shortcomings of Korean Literature education will be shown. "Square" is arbitrarily edited when included in textbooks and "ROBPS" can provide a way to better understand the material.
This thesis suggests 'ROBPS' as a method of literary education that develops core competencies and opens the way for lifelong readers to nurture 'Creative Convergence human resource', which the 2015 revised curriculum emphasizes. By analyzing high school literature textbooks, attempts are made to identify the problems of the current middle-length novel education centering on "Square", and to find a way to read one book per semester so that Creative Convergence education through professional reading activities in literature education can proceed.
However, there is a limitation in that it is not possible to present an educational method that can be applied to all medium-length novels as it is limited to presenting a lesson plan limited to one selected work. The Creative Convergence plan for each reading is not included as a whole, and only suggests a few activities per reading. It is recommended that Creative Convergence one-book reading education be studied not only in Korean textbooks but also in subject-integration direction, so that specialized reading extends beyond literary works to all areas, and whole-reading activities are actively carried out within the curriculum.
