The major purpose of this dissertation is to investigate the impact of logistics companies and cargo companies on the performance of China's Eco-Friendly ports and analyze the determinants that affect the use of green logistics and strategic compliance to environmental policies.
Using literature research analysis and empirical analysis, the variables were divided into three parts . Literature research analysis was conducted using a theoretical model, and empirical analysis was performed using a SEM (Structural Equation Modeling).
The following steps were used for analysis and verification:
1. Citing literature as the theoretical basis; 2. collecting data on Chinese logistics companies and cargo companies; 3. measuring questionnaire items using a five-point Likert scale; 4. confirming the normality of distribution and analyzing the data by factor analysis, path analysis, and causal analysis.
The results of the analysis are as follows:
1) Conduct theoretical research on the development of Eco-Friendly ports. Comparing the operating situations of Eco-Friendly ports in China with those in other countries highlights the necessity of China's continued development of Eco-Friendly ports. Literature research methods were mainly used for this part of the study. It was found that the formulation and implementation of environmental policies have played a significant role in the process of promoting the development of Eco-Friendly ports,. This lays the foundation for analysis of the logistics companies.
2) The results of a survey and analysis of 229 employees working in logistics companies show that, compared with the implementation of policy suppression from the outside, spontaneous cognition from the inside will have a better effect on the development of green logistics. The results prove that the network, the green guide, and the port's professional operation capabilities have a positive effect on environmental policy compliance. On the contrary, the transportation equipment, professional talents, standardization, and port infrastructure did not have a positive effect on environmental policy compliance. In addition, in the process of comparing and analyzing the results, it was found that professional talent characteristics of the company do not produced a positive effect, but the professional operation ability of the port had a positive effect on environmental policy compliance. In the process of promoting the development of Eco-Friendly logistics, professionalism and practicality will produce better results.
3) The results of a survey and analysis of 325 employees working in cargo companies show that the leadership style adopted by the government is very important in transferring the cargo companies' improved green awareness into actual behaviors. The results prove that the professional talents, green certification systems, environmental norms, and environmental rules have a positive effect on the strategic use of green logistics. On the contrary, the interpersonal relationships, standardization, and freight changes show no positive effect on the strategic use of green logistics. In addition, it was found that the mediator's effect on the environmental system was positive, while no effect could be detected from moderator's effect. In the process of guiding cargo companies to use green logistics services, the government needs to build more information bridges than a single guidance policy.
This study analyzes the impact of environmental policy compliance and the strategic use of green logistics on the sustainable management of enterprises and asserts the importance of changing our understanding of environmental protection concepts and the formulation of differentiated policies. It not only has academic significance, but also provides different research perspectives in the process of promoting the development of environmentally friendly ports in the future.
