This study tried to investigate the characteristics of vocational re-socialization process in job seekers from vulnerable social groups, especially those participated in the governmental 'Employment Success Package' program. Specifically, the researcher undertook case analyses of 11 participants' characteristics in the aspects of socio-demography, desocialization, and re-socialization process, after having interviews with them for 7 months while they are in the program of an employment center managed under the Ministry of Employment and Labor. As for the methods, in-depth interview, job readiness assessment test, vocational preference inventory were used. The result of analyses is as following.
First, as for the socio-demographic characteristics, participants are consist of 7 youths under 34 years old, 3 in 40s, 1 in 60s. All 11 had academic career above high school, and 4 out of 5 college graduates are in youth. 2 are just starters in job market, 3 are venture-seekers, and 3 are female career disrupted. Their previous jobs were kinds of temporary employment or part-time job, so that they could be easily victims of desocialization.
Second, as for the desocialization characteristics, they have low self-esteem, low job-efficiency, week interpersonal relationship, lack of self-control, economic vulnerability, and alienation from family as main factors of desocialization. In addition, fear of openness due to the lack of employment or job experience and career disruption, also seem to contribute to their desocialization process.
Third, as for the re-socialization characteristics and needs, attaining of certificates to be recognized as professional or to change the job, training to cope with the stress accompanied by entering into job market, acquiring basic socializable competence necessary for human relation and adjustment for organization life, reliable support for vocational re-socialization, etc, are required for their effective vocational re-socialization.
